American Hand Prosthetics was founded with the realization that most successful hand prostheses in the future will be mechanically simple help devices of socially acceptable appearance.
Flexibility in individual design, uncompromising standards of quality and service and attention to detail other manufacturers ignore has led to AHP hand prostheses becoming the standard against which all others are judged. |
Yet, we once again emphasize that even AHP prostheses fall short of true replacement of missing parts.
They are designed for well-defined and specific purposes. The recognition of these purposes is essential to realistic expectations and customer satisfaction. |

AHP Europe is pleased to announce that, thanks to its technology, it is now in a position to offer you the first truly esthetic myoelectric hand prosthesis. |
|
AHP Technology is so advanced that patents have been granted by the United States, United Kingdom, France and other major countries. Unfortunately, mass production is not possible and customized manufacture is labor intensive as demonstrated by the meticulous sculpturing in wax of this master model. |
The * Biochromatic coloring process mimics Nature with a translucent surface beneath which pigments are deposited according to the individual's characteristics.
Color matching is superior to any previously achieved, but a prosthesis obviously cannot adapt to the small constant skin color changes due to variation in blood flow or pigment changes such as a suntan.
If you live in an area of major seasonal changes, one prosthesis for summer and another for winter is desirable. |

This also provides a back-up prosthesis when repair is required

Both face prostheses and upper limb use advance technologydeveloped by AHPgroup. |
| Today, the use of these tecnologies enables us to offer you a perfect a esthetic cover for all types of amputation as well asfo most devices available on the market. |

ARM AND FOREARM PROSTHESES
AHP prostheses can be fitted to conventional arm sockets or to special AHP light, non-irritating, soft and flexible sockets.
Elbow units can swing freely or be locked in position and the wrist coupling allows the hand to be easily rotated so that the palm faces the thigh naturally as you walk or sit down. |
TOTAL HAND PROSTHESES
When the loss is at wrist level, prosthetic fitting can usually be done without a forearm socket. Flexible armatures built into a hand prosthesis allow its configuration to be passively changed by the normal hand for holding light objects. This capability also contributes to near-normal social appearance. Despite a slight difference in length between the two arms, this technique is preferable to adding a forearm socket.
|
PARTIAL HAND PROSTHESES
Improving physical capability is a constant AHP design criterion. This is strikingly achieved with partial hand prostheses. The use of the remaining thumb or fingers is enhanced by prosthetically providing parts against which they can work. Restoration of near-normal appearance is an important bonus. Partial hand prostheses are usually the most difficult to develop but are very rewarding. |

THUMB PROSTHESES
The AHP exdusive coloring process has led to thumb prostheses whose juncture with the normal skin is hardly perceptible. Total thumb amputations at the base of the palm have no satisfactory solution, but AHP prostheses for amputations extending 12.5 mm or more beyond the web can result in considerable benefits. Also note the AHP perfection of fingernail details which have integrated UV filters for color stabilization. |
FINGER PROSTHESES
These are superb. The AHP fit is so precise that both pressure and position sense are transmitted to the body for subconscious control needed for activities such as typing. AHP'S Biochromatic color matching is so good that customary use of a ring to disguise the juncture with the skin becomes purely an option. |

a perfect aesthetic cover for all types of amputation as well
as for most devices available on the market.
